This is a Summary version of the full CMR Special Report, which reproduced training records of the late Lt. Kara Hultgreen, who died attempting to land her F-14 on the carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, and Lt. Carey Lohrenz, who had earned failing training records long before CMR published the CMR Special Report.
Lt. Patrick “Jerry” Burns, who was an instructor for both of the female aviators, was interviewed by Mike Wallace on CBS “Sixty Minutes.”
