Issue 18: December 2010
Tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM retired Lt. Col. Robert Maginnis and I will appear on the ABC morning program This Week With Christiane Amanpour, opposite R. Clarke Cooper of the Log Cabin Republicans and Tammy Schultz, a professor at the Marine Corps War College. Former NATO Supreme Allied Commander Gen. Wesley Clark also will be on the program, which airs at 9:00 AM ET.
In the past week we have watched a three-act power play orchestrated by Obama Administration officials and LGBT Left activists who are determined to repeal the 1993 law regarding homosexuals in the military. Despite the carefully-spun release of the report of the Defense Department Comprehensive Review Working Group report on November 30, Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin (D-MI) was not pleased.
Here are only a few articles that will give you an idea of what happened. The opposition got their best shot, but they failed to get the support from military leaders that they need in order to repeal the law:
- Washington Post: At Hearing, Military Chiefs Say Change Would be Difficult
- LA Times: Three Military Chiefs Oppose DADT Repeal
- National Review Online: DADT Blackmail
- Washington Times Editorial: The New Gay Army on parade
- Gaffney: Introducing “Forced Intimacy”
Family Research Council has done an excellent analysis of the highly-misleading news reports on the CRWG Survey of the Troops:
We will have more to say about the week’s events soon. We have survived the media wave, and the opposition did not get the support from military leaders that they needed to win. Please keep in mind, however, that Congress is still in session and our military is still at risk. If you haven’t called your own state’s U.S. senators, please do so right away.
With your continued support we will not allow the LGBT Left to win.
Elaine
