Issue 36: April 2015

For many months, your Center for Military Readiness has been tracking, analyzing, and often breaking news on the ongoing military research on the consequences of ordering women to serve in direct ground combat units such as the infantry. This article, which we posted today on Breitbart's National Security website, explains why members of Congress should start asking tough questions. For example, Why should our military accept policies that we know will increase the number of physically-disabled female veterans?

Also today, author and Special Operations Forces expert Anna Simons, a Professor of Defense Analysis at the Naval Postgraduate School, published an excellent article on the popular website War on the Rocks. Prof. Simons explains why military men with land combat experience are inhibited from participating in the co-ed combat debate, and why their voices need to be heard: "[O]pponents need to demonstrate that fearing the unknown is not the issue. Instead, knowing what will happen is the issue because it has happened and is happening."

Prof. Simons is correct -- policy leaders have a responsibility to act on data that is based on reality and actual experience, not theory. The Center for Military Readiness is the primary source for information on this subject, which Congress and military leaders need to consider right now. These are two of our most comprehensive efforts, published last month and last Fall:

Liberal media rarely report the full story, but there have been exceptions:

Will you help CMR to convey our message to opinion leaders in Congress, the Pentagon, and the media?

Activist groups, feminists in Congress, and most liberal media outlets are gearing up for the big push for women in combat, and we really need your help, in several ways:

  • Please spread the word by "liking" the CMR Facebook page and sharing the articles we posted today.
  • Finally, you can contact your Senator and/or member of Congress by checking the CongressMerge website or calling the Capitol Switchboard (202/224-3121). You can also find out if your senator is on the Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman, chaired by John McCain, by clicking here, or contact members of the House Armed Services Committee, chaired by Rep. Mac Thornberry by clicking here.

You can make a difference! Thank you for supporting the troops at this critical time.

Sincerely,

Elaine's Signature-Blue
