CMR Statement for the Senate Armed Services Committee: Congress Should Review Results of Research on Women in Combat
We are pleased to send you the newest article on our website, which includes a Statement for the Record that CMR was invited to submit to the
Senate Armed Services Committee on February 2.
The full 37-page statement, which is supported by extensive footnotes and links to cited sources, is posted here:
An eight-page summary is posted here:
Now that the Senate has had its first hearing on the issue of women in combat since 1991 -- 25 years ago -- they need to have more hearings with independent experts - many of whom are cited in the CMR Statement for the Record and in previous CMR Special Reports.
Many issues have yet to be discussed, including changes in military culture that would have far-reaching consequences in the civilian world. The following articles provide further insight into why congressional attention to military/social issues is long overdue.
- Jude Eden, The Daily (Heritage) Signal, No, Women Should Not be Included in the Draft
- Rachel Lu, PhD., Public Discourse, The Collapse of Gender Sanity
- Eric Mataxis, Women and the Draft
